December 23rd

We had our holiday party with the day care kids today. Colby was pulling on his ears all day. Something he has never done. I took his temp 99.4. Some of the parents during the party noticed that he was not acting like himself, I thought maybe an ear infection. I checked his temp again once everyone left. 100.4. Within an hour he got really whiny and started to cry when he touched his ears. Took his temp again. 104.8. After speaking with the dr we all thought it was best to take a trip to the ER.  (I gave him a dose and 1/2 of motrin and we headed out)
Once there he was acting like himself again. Eating yogurt, blueberries, playing with Elmo and saying "ho,ho,ho" whenever anyone wearing a Santa hat walked by.

His ears checked out fine. But they were concerned about his breathing which was getting labored since arriving. He had bright red cheeks. I thought maybe 5th disease. After a chest Xray. It was decided that it was just RSV. (A really bad cold) and we were sent on our merry way. By 2 am he had no fever no signs of rash and was back to fun loving Colby!
