What a LONG week.

Sunday:
Everything started out fine!  I had a shower to go to, so I left the house around 10:30am. Uncle Fun and Aunt Shell took Nate out for a day of fun! John and Colby hung here. When they came to pick me up at 2:30, Colby was coughing. Nothing he hasn't done before...really didn't think it was a big deal. We took him for a hair cut and met Michele, Joe and Nate at the mall. We left the boys with Joe and Michele while we went to visit baby Peyton.  We got a text that Colby didn't feel well. He was coughing and gagged himself. Picked them up and he was breathing rapidly. Over  night his breathing started to get worse.

Monday:
John stayed home so that I could take Colby to the dr. He was still coughing and gagging and he started belly breathing.  I had already started his albuterol treatments. Dr. Cucolo said that it sounded like the start of a bad asthma attack, and he had a mini attack at the office. He got a dose of prednisone in the office and script for 3 more days of 3ml two times a day. We were to continue flovent 44 and albuterol treatments.

Tuesday:
Uncle Fun came to play with Colby. He was still belly breathing, but for the most part happy and playing. He would get upset when he heard me and wanted me to come up. He gagged himself twice that night. His breathing and coughing got worse overnight. I was up all night with him and debated on taking him to the hospital at 2 am.

Wednesday:
Mom came to stay with the kids so I could take Colby to the Dr again. I had given him treatments through out the night. I gave him 2 close together at 6 and 8 am. And his prednisone at 8. By 930 at the Dr he was sounding worse. As soon as Dr Cucolo saw him she said he was most likely going to the ER. We tried 2 more treatments back to back in the office. But he was still tight and his sats were not good. (91). So off we went to the ER. After 8 treatments (6 albuterol and 2 other) a chest xray, and a nasal swab and suction later. He was diagnoised with RSV. They wanted to admit him after watching him over almost 5 hours. But they were not going to do any different meds than I was already giving at home. After talking with the Ped, Pulmonogist, Pulmonary at the hospital and the attending we all agreed it was better for him to be home than be exposed to more germs at the hospital.
Colby did really well there for the 5 hours being confined to the bed. He cried off and on for something to eat. But they kept telling me that they don't feed wheezers (even happy wheezers as they were all calling him) So after me begging they brought him some crackers..he ate 2 but not happily. He kept asking for fruit! And they didn't have any.  As soon as we were discharged I walked over to Au Bon Pan and got him a banana and he was the happiest kid ever!!
Late night was rough he was up a lot and coughing more.

Thursday:
John took off and stayed with Colby. He did really well he started to sound a little better and was eating a little more. He had 2 bowls of pasta for dinner so we knew he was on the mend! He slept all night!

Friday:
John took him back to the Dr. Dr Cucolo. She said he was 90% better. No more belly breathing and said the congestion  sound in his throat may take another week to sound better. He was cleared to be around the kids (the kids can only get a cold from RSV) but I wanted to wait till Monday to give him an extra few days to feel 100%. He ate like a little piggy all day!
